Storm + Sierra | Rustic Sunset Engagement | Shiocton, WI

Summer golden light, it doesn’t come any better than this! It also comes with a swarm of mosquitos, but we’ll skip that detail and just say these images were worth the 10+ bug bites!

I feel like it’s safe to say I’ve hit a new “milestone” as a photographer! You see, I photographed Sierra over 5 years ago for her senior portraits and now here she is, engaged and one of my 2020 brides! I’m so honored to have amazing clients like her that stick with me and allow me to document the milestones in their life!

Everything about this rustic location I recently discovered speaks to my style! Scroll below to view a few of my favorites!

Spring Engagement

Cave Point County Park – Door County, WI

You wouldn’t know it by looking, but the chilly wind coming off of Lake Michigan had us feeling like it was 20 degrees in May (actual temp was 41, but not really any better)! Our running joke of the night was that this cold weather is nothing compared to their upcoming January wedding! But honestly, whether it’s windy as can be, snowing, raining, or sticky hot it really doesn’t matter because Cave Point is always a picture perfect destination. And these two only make it look better!

Summer Engagement

Chain O’Lakes – Waupaca, WI

Originally from the Oconomowoc area, these two enjoy nothing more than an annual trip to the Wisconsin northwoods for Summer vacation. Their annual stay typically includes a run around Marl Lake, followed by a quick dip; a 25 cent ice cream cone at Weller’s Store, and bike rides along the rural roads. Fun stuff, right! They envisioned that their wedding and engagement would capture the essence of a nostalgic Summer vacation, and so we did just that! By incorporating the vintage tandem bike and visiting a few of their favorite spots we were feeling the vacation vibes. Take a peek below at a few of my favorites from the session!

Gunner & Jessalyn

Spring Engagement – Tigerton, WI

We couldn’t have asked for a better May day! Ok, a little sunset light would have been nice, but honestly look at these two! So much love and chemistry, it makes me beyond excited to photograph them on their wedding day!

I love that during this session we were able to incorporate a majority of my favorite things: old vehicles, barn board, rust colors, log piles and dirt roads! All of the rustic flare had my creativity flowing and I’m so pleased with the end product. Thanks Jess, for bringing me to your family properties and I can’t wait to be back in October!

Cave Point – Sturgeon Bay, WI

Gahhhh! I just love the mixture of beach and woods throughout this session. We had perfect timing as it rained right before and after the session, and we were able to capture some of the late day sunlight. Cave Point definitely doesn’t disappoint and is truly unique to Wisconsin and the Lake Michigan shoreline.
