The Virtual Weddings at Stubborn Brothers Brewery

Shawano, WI | May 30, 2020

You read that right, “weddings”! An amazing group of local wedding vendors collaborated and offered their services to 3 deserving couples whose wedding plans were effected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Yes, they really did get married that day while their friends and family were able to virtually tune in and share the special moment with them! This unique event was styled to perfection with spring florals, peachy pink tones, and an elegance that matched the beautifully restored brewery! You could feel the love, happiness, and relief from each couple as they walked hand in hand together back down the isle!

Scroll below to preview each couples magical moments from that day! And shout out to all of the vendors who donated their time and talents to make this event such a beautiful and memorable experience for the newlyweds!

Spring Engagement

Cave Point County Park – Door County, WI

You wouldn’t know it by looking, but the chilly wind coming off of Lake Michigan had us feeling like it was 20 degrees in May (actual temp was 41, but not really any better)! Our running joke of the night was that this cold weather is nothing compared to their upcoming January wedding! But honestly, whether it’s windy as can be, snowing, raining, or sticky hot it really doesn’t matter because Cave Point is always a picture perfect destination. And these two only make it look better!

Bring on the boots, hats, and….dresses!?

The Krueger Sisters

Yep, you read that right! All four sisters now married, the first for 9 years and the latest for only 1 month, and their Mother came up with a brilliant idea: Let’s do a photo shoot with all four of my daughters in their wedding dresses!

From the start I fell in love with the idea! I mean, I’ve never actually seen anything like this and there are no boundaries! With that we started to snowball different ideas. The rustic theme was derived from our location, the parents home and maple syrup shack. The plaid mugs, hot cocoa, boots, hats and blankets were the perfect additions to this chilly November day. The hot cocoa may or may not have had a little extra something added to keep the girls warm!

Let me guess, your thinking “What’s with the pictures on the couch?” Truth is the girls love the TV hit series “Friends” and if you’re a Friends fan you already know where this is headed! Their goal was to recreate the episode where the friends were chilling on the couch in their wedding dresses. So, did we nail it or what!? Plus the inside of their sugar shack is too cute not to photograph.

If you’re in need of all natural maple syrup or honey, be sure to visit the Krueger’s! They are too kind, and happily gave me a tour and sent me home with a jar of honey!

Location: Krueger’s Sugar Bush
Blankets and Mugs: Pottery Barn
Hats: Love Your Melon
Beer: New Glarus – Spotted Cow
Popcorn: Candyland – Minnesota

The Swiggum Wedding

September 9, 2017

Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes, Wisconsin

Mark and Trisha are Wisconsin natives who have a passion for life and a love for travel. Although they now reside in California, one of their favorite places to visit is the family’s vacation cottage on the Chain O’ Lakes. What they love most about the cottage is the nostalgia they feel when visiting the local store for a 25 cent ice cream cone; or going for a dip in the lake after a long run; or biking along the winding back roads. You get the idea!

This feeling of simplicity inspired them to return here for their laid-back outdoor wedding. The day began at the cottage where the groom and his men got ready on the old front porch. The bride and her gals rented a small boat house a few doors down. When Trisha was ready, Mark went to the end of the dock to await the “first look” at his bride to be! They exchanged gifts, a sweet hand written note from the groom and a custom book depicting their love story made by the bride. We then traveled along the back roads to a spot that Trisha and Mark had chosen to photograph the bridal party. The weather was a perfect sunny and 75.

The bridal party arrived by boat to the ceremony site: a small peninsula overlooking the lake. In the late afternoon hours the sun began to warm the sky, which graced the occasion with a subtle glow. The ceremony was full of good vibes and love as the couple read custom vows. Their brother in-law, who officiated, also added a fun, personal touch.

The Indian Crossing Casino was the perfect reception venue as it is an iconic, old building in the area that features old wooden floors, high ceilings, string lights, etc. The old dance hall definitely has a vintage “dirty dancing” vibe which complimented the nostalgic feel. It’s also located right on the lake where we could watch the sun go down and the night come to life.

Scroll down to view the detail-filled collection of their Summer Wisconsin wedding. Congratulations, Mark and Trisha!
